Lobster Feast 2017 at Markham Vineyards
2812 St Helena Hwy N
St Helena, CA 94574
Feb. 4th, 2017, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Tickets – $120 – $150

As much a hostess as she is a winemaker, Kimberlee Nichols of Markham Vineyards is the architect behind the winery’s yearly Lobster Feast, a dinner time event that compliments their varietals with live music and a feast of buttery Maine lobster and gourmet hors d’oeuvres, bibs included. Beau Wine Tours offers a 20% discount for transportation to and from the Lobster Feast. That way, couples can stay late enjoying the romance of good music and good food, and still have a way to get home after one too many glasses of Chardonnay.

Insider tip: Take time during or after the dinner to explore their two-floor art gallery courtesy of artists Harold & Peggy Francis, the perfect activity to accompany your wine-sipping.

Royal Hearts Valentine Gala at Castello di Amorosa
4045 St Helena Hwy
Calistoga, CA 94515
Feb. 11th, 2017, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Tickets – $245

Couples ringing in the romantic holiday weekend are welcomed with red carpet and sparkling wine at the Royal Hearts Valentine Gala, held in the striking old world setting of Castello di Amorosa. Complimentary shuttles from downtown Calistoga make it easy to get there and back. The formal evening promises live opera performances and a four course dinner of shucked oysters, elegant chocolates, and more paired with Italian-style wines in the vaulted Grand Barrel Room. It’d be hard to think of a setting or a selection of food more perfectly-suited for a romantic evening to remember.

Insider tip: Venture beyond the Grand Barrel Room before the evening starts to see the stone castle’s other marvels on the winery tour, including a moat, drawbridge, chapel and torture chamber.

Bosché Release Party at Freemark Abbey
3022 St Helena Hwy
St Helena, CA 94574
Feb. 11, 2017, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Tickets – $65

Freemark Abbey goes all out to celebrate the release of their oak-aged 2013 Bosché Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a single vineyard designate from the foot of the nearby Mayacamas Mountains. The new bottles are best aged another decade or so, but tickets include tastings of other Freemark Abbey wines, plus live entertainment and appetizers. A picturesque stone estate dating back to 1886, Freemark Abbey has cause to call itself the quintessential Napa winery, so a three-course dinner here is sure to be a pre-Valentine’s Day delight.

Insider tip: Come early so you don’t miss the chance to dine at the adjoining Two Birds/One Stone restaurant, where the crispy chili-glazed chicken wings can’t be beat.

Enjoying the rare, complex varietals of the E x S label in a Michelin Award-winning setting should make for a swoon-worthy Valentine’s weekend.
