The American badger is a nocturnal mammal that is native to California. Since 1987, they have been listed by California Department of Fish and Wildlife as a Species of Special Concern. Join Naturalist Susan Kirks as she shares observations from her 18 years of badger field studies. Ms. Kirks will discuss the American badger’s habitat and lifecycle, compare the American badger to the well-known honey badger, and share their important role in California’s coastal and upland grassland ecosystems.
