While Harvest Table does not officially begin until 4:30pm on Sunday, let’s make a weekend out of it and experience the many bountiful bits of Calistoga!

Friday, September 8th
Depending on where you call home, travels to Napa Valley can vary. Whether by car, plane, or bike (yes, it’s absolutely possible), the journey is part of the adventure. If you’re traveling from one of the local airports or are looking for friendly and knowledgeable transportation to assist throughout your weekend, tap the pros at Napa Valley Tours and Transportation. They’ll arrange all your ground transportation needs so you can take in the unbelievable views along the way.

Hotel options in Calistoga and the surrounding areas can be overwhelming, so we’ve rounded up a few of our partner properties to show off the diversity and to help you decide where to tuck in for the weekend in the process.

If you’re looking for a relaxed “bohemian hideaway”, Indian Springs may fit the bill. Located just outside the downtown area, the resort hosts beautiful, whitewashed buildings that pop off the surrounding mountainside and multiple pools where guests can soak in Calistoga’s mineral-rich water. They provide bikes to get around town or stick around the resort to take in a game of bocce, shuffleboard, or croquet.

Mount View Hotel & Spa sits centrally on Lincoln Avenue and has been a mainstay since the early 20th century. While it has overcome quite a face-lift since it’s early days, including two additional wings, the history of the hotel has been rightfully revamped and now blends the original Art Deco elements with modern interpretations in what the owners call “Artistic Deco”. Each suite is elegantly decorated in rich colors and elegant details and includes feather beds and in-room espresso machines. Be sure to plan to spend a few moments by their mineral pool just like the film stars of the ‘30s and ‘40s once did.

The Brannan Cottage Inn is more suited for an intimate Calistoga getaway with amenities of a boutique hotel and the charm of a small town B&B. Having received TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for three years running along with USA Today’s 10 Best Romantic Places to Stay in Napa Valley, you’re bound to find the combination of luxury and hospitality you desire. Each room has its own color scheme, and guests can choose from more contemporary accommodations or historic rooms with Victorian-era charm. A stay includes a continental breakfast and is just steps from the very walkable downtown area.

Grab dinner and local brews at Calistoga Inn Restaurant and Brewery. Enjoy the ambiance of their outdoor tables and beer garden sitting along the Napa River, while partaking in pizza (with dough made from spent grain and wort from the brewery) or a burger while you settle in for your first night in town. If you’re up for a few more hours of fun, step into their lively pub for late night libations and conversations with locals.

Saturday, September 9th

If you’re a morning person or seeking out adventure during your getaway, check out a hot air balloon ride with Calistoga Balloons. Starting before sunrise, join a small group of curious adventurers and take flight with the only balloon outfitter in northern Napa Valley. View local vineyards and Calistoga’s unique terrain from above as you float along the cool, morning breeze. Be sure to watch for Old Faithful Geyser of California below, as it can erupt up to four times during your tour.

For those who prefer a more leisurely start, begin your Saturday with brunch at Sam’s Social Club. Located at Indian Springs and serving brunch on weekend’s until 2:30, grab a healthy granola or dig into their decadent eggs benedict for the fuel to get going for a weekend of adventure.

There’s many ways you can spend your Saturday afternoon, but the most obvious involves our favorite beverage. With tasting rooms speckled throughout downtown and wineries as far as the eye can see, there’s so many options to explore. We’re highlighting three distinctly different wineries that pour over into amazing experiences.

If you’re more of a “one stop shop” individual, the Calistoga Winegrowers Association is hosting the Calistoga Wine Experience in the town’s Pioneer Park between 2pm – 6pm. Join them for their 2nd Annual wine tasting event with 40! wineries from the Calistoga AVA. Enjoy tastings with winery owner’s and winemakers. Pair varietals with gourmet bites from local chefs. Enjoy the music of local favorite, Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers. Last year’s event was an, “over the top success”!
And Calistoga was just voted, “One of the top 10 wine destinations in the world!” by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.

After a long day of tasting and touring, relax in the comfort foods of Italy at Bosko’s Trattoria. Crafting homemade pastas and pizzas with the freshest ingredients, be sure to save room for a slice of their cheesecake or tasty tiramisu. Additionally, Bosko’s offers gluten free pizza and pasta options along with multiple salads and antipasti for those with dietary needs.

Sunday, September 10th

Head on over to Solbar at stunning Solage for a relaxed morning (or afternoon) meal. You’ll find seasonal and local ingredients on their diverse Sunday brunch menu. Enjoy outdoor seating and picturesque views, and don’t miss out on their famed fish tacos and a morning mimosa.

A visit to Calistoga wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the town’s geothermal, mineral rich waters and volcanic ash. With a handful of resorts and spas offering relaxing services leveraging the region’s natural resource, we recommend booking a mud bath or other rejuvenating experience at Calistoga Spa & Mud Baths or Golden Haven.

As 4:30 rolls around, it’s time to get down to business. The fun begins with bar service from eight different outdoor, sidewalk bars pouring 40+ wineries divine wines. Available by the glass or bottle, this portion of the evening is open to non-ticket holders as well and will continue to flow until the main event begins at 6pm. Grab your seat and sit back for a roller coaster of flavor as 13 restaurants showcase their culinary chops alongside suggested wine pairings. The evening will continue under the stars, and this sought-after wine country food and wine event is a celebration of the dynamic community that encapsulates Calistoga.

With lady luck on your side, visit Calistoga Chamber’s Harvest Table Contest for your opportunity to win two tickets to the yearly event, one night stay at Cottage Grove Inn, and a bottle of one of the AVA’s fine wines. The winner will be announced on July 14th, 2017.

Tickets for Harvest Table go on sale at noon PDT on July 17th . Mark your calendars, because tickets sell out quickly and you don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind event!
