In How to Capture Carbon, a collection of twelve luminous stories, readers are taken to the edge of reality, where magic and the mysterious depths of human emotion intersect. The award-winning story “Star, Fish” explores a world where children transform into sea creatures during a pandemic, while a mother balances grief with growth. Other tales include a woman who turns to baking for solace amid a natural disaster and a young man embarking on a journey in a flying coat.

These lyrical, dreamlike narratives delve into themes of climate change, transformation, and the redemptive power of love and loss. Author Walker will discuss the book in conversation with local author Angela Pneuman.
