WILD Napa is a monthly lecture series that explores topics related to Napa County’s ‘wild side’! RCD Senior Biologist Jonathan Koehler joins them for this month’s installment.
Since 2009, Jonathan has annually monitored smolt abundance, adult returns, juvenile distribution, and genetic diversity in the Napa River Watershed. Just this year his team found tagged trout returning up the Napa River to spawn. The purpose of this monitoring and research is to provide science-based information to all stakeholders involved in steelhead and salmon management and recovery. Come to their lecture at the Napa Library to hear what it’s all about!
